Logan's ride in an....

AMBULANCE!!!!! So Tuesday at about 2:00 am Logan woke up with a slight fever and sounded a little croupy we gave him some medicine and we went back to sleep. The next morning he woke up an was feeling fine no fever still a little bit of a cough but was up and running around. So I decided that I would still go shopping with my mom as planned. So we went shopping and as we were buying the few things that we found Logan got really upset. I figured he probably was just get tired and hungry. So we finished up and headed to get some lunch. At lunch I ordered Logan's favorite, chicken and fries but he just picked at it. Then I felt his head and he had a fever again. So we finished lunch and headed home. On the way home I called the doctor and asked some questions wondering if maybe he had caught the stupid swine flu. He told me some things to do and I went home and put him to bed. That night we kept medicine in him to keep his fever down but he still didn't sleep much. The next morning he still had a little bit of a fever but was once again running around playing so I quickly took the boys to the store to get some groceries and came home and tried to get Logan to eat and take a nap. Neither happened. He just kept coming up to me and saying momma hurt!!! It was just heart breaking and then to listen to him breathing has sad to. I laid him down and turned on a show and tried to get somethings done around the house. Logan still wasn't doing well so I put the boys in the car and decided to drive around and see if I could get Logan to fall asleep. But while driving around I just kept feeling like I needed to get him to the doctor. So I called Paul sister and dropped the other boys off and headed to Instacare. I called Paul on the way and told him what was going on. I walked into Instacare and signed him in and was immediately take back by two nurse and before I even sat down had three more doctors and nurse there to help. He was immediately given some epinephrine to help open his airway. They told me that we were going to have to stay for 3 hours to watch and if it got worse again that they would have to send us to the hospital. Immediately he started getting better I asked the nurse if we could give him some medicine to help keep on top of his fever we tried giving him some and he just threw it up the nurse then took his tempature just to see who much we needed to make him have some medicine and it was 104.4. To the instantly got him some more then his breathing started to get worse again. Paul went and got the doctor and she came and listened and said that he needed to go to the hospital and that because it was respatory issues he had to go by ambulance. I was handling the news okay until two things happened the paramedics showed up and brought the stretcher and Logan said he wanted his daddy and that meant I was going to have to follow in the car. Along the way I got seperated from the ambulance and came running into the ER trying to find where they took Logan. I finally found him and felt a little better. After tons a medication and he breathing was getting better, his fever was coming down, but we were going to have to spend the night to make sure that his breathing didn't get worse again. So here I am at 4:00 am sitting in the hospital room updating my blog. Hopefully we get to go home soon.

Neighborhood explosion

November 4th at 9:13 I had just loaded my kids in the car to go run some errands and put the garage door up when all of the sudden I heard this loud noise and felt my car moving. My first thought was that my garage door had just fallen on my car. I looked up and nope it was still on the tracks then I wondered if I had hit something but didn't remember taking the car out of park yet I looked down and sure enough it was still in park. So I jumped out of the car to go look around outside and that is when I saw the flame reach higher than the tallest smoke stack at the refinery by my house. My first thought was I hope everyone at the refinery is okay then it was to get the heck out of there before anything else went wrong. As I was pulling out of the neighborhood I called Paul and said the refinery just exploded we are okay but I am getting out of here. Then instantly I thought of my friend who lives down the street and knew that with how big the explosion was something had to be wrong at her house and hoped that no one was hurt. When I called her husband answered and said we are okay but we can't talk now. I quickly said do you need any help? but he had already hung up. So off to my mom's house to be away from the refinery but somewhere were I could watch the news and see if I needed to hurry home and get somethings out of my house. As I am watching the news and they were talking about how house were destroyed but so far no one was hurt and the fire was out; I quickly loaded my kids back into the car and back home to see what damage had occurred. My brother Dallas came with me and we made the kids stay in the car as we looked to make sure there wasn't any broken glass or worse. Everything was fine so we then headed down to my friend Kristi's to see what help she needed. Nothing could have prepared me for what I saw. Her house was practically destroyed. Tons of broken windows, ever wall had at least a 4 foot crack in it. Doors that were broken because they were blow in the opposite direction that they opened and the wall in her garage was leaning to were there was a several inch gap were you could look up and see the sky. The roof had literally been blown off her house, sifted, and then came back down. Kristi was doing ok and really was just waiting to find out if she was needed to leave her house or what was going to happen with her and her family. There has been lots of damage to houses in my neighborhood and we still have people that like to drive through and see the damage. I have learned lots of things. One my house is just a house and my stuff is just stuff, people are more important. I love my neighborhood I love the people and how they pull together to help each other out and I love how quiet it is. Not a ton of traffic, usually just the sound of kids playing outside. I am really glad that we picked the house that we did.

Halloween

The boys had a great Halloween. We started of with doing a quick little trunk-or-treat up at the high school. It was a great little warm up for the boys to remember or in Logan's case really learn was trick-or-treating is about. Then Friday afternoon we went to Paul's work to do some trick-or-treating; the boys always love going to Paul's work and Paul likes showing of his boys. On actual Halloween it was up to my mom's for a party with all the cousins. My mom always does some fun games, has "scary" food and lots of treats for the kids. Then is was home for a little nap and then off to Paul's parents to show them the boys in their costumes and then a little bit of trick-or-treating. We didn't do that much trick-or-treating since they got so much at Paul's work so we went home and had the boys help pass out the candy to the kids and I think that was the favorite thing of the night. While passing out the candy we watched Halloween movies and ate Jack-o-lantern pizza. All in all it was a great Halloween and I think that from now on we are just going to do a little trick-or-treating and then stay home and watch movies.

Elephant Parade and Circus

Kaden thought it was funny that the elephants held each others tails!!!

Logan's favorite part!! "bike vroom vroom"

Last Thursday was the elephant parade for the start of the circus. So we picked Kaden up from preschool and rushed down to the Gateway to see the parade. It was better this year than last and the boys got excited for going to the circus on Friday!!!
On Friday we went early to the circus to go and she the animals before and to go down on the floor and talk to the clowns and performers and even see them up close. Kaden just absolutely loved this clown that had a British accent and kept losing his hat. Logan got scared when one of the Tiger roared and him. Tanner loved the elephant and mini horses.
Paul's parents got a suite to watch the circus for the whole family which was really nice. The boys could move around and got to the bathroom when needed. They loved it especially Logan. He was cheering and clapping through the whole thing. I am glad that we went. Thanks Bonnie and Dennis for the tickets!!!

Paul's birthday!!

Now Paul thought that I was crazy for making such a big deal about his birthday but his boys had a blast doing all the stuff for his birthday. If we went to Wal-mart and they each picked out a present for him. I was surprised how much thought that they put it. Kaden got him a Dr Pepper, Tanner bought him some candy that Paul likes. I bought him a motorcycle yep I bought him a Hondo CBR 600F (aka bullet bike) Now before you guys think that I have finally gone crazy it was a toy!!! He keeps bugging me to get a motorcycle so I bought him one!!! Then we made him a cake and we had to make a Horton the elephant one because that is what he told the boys he wanted. We decorated the house and made him dinner. I hope he had a good birthday if not the boys certianly had fun celebrating it!!!

Parker's blessing

Parker was blessed on the 13th of September. And boy was that a projected to get ready for. It was somewhat nice because it forced me to get projects done around the house but it was a couple stressful weeks to get already!!! It went great and lots of people came. Some weren't able to be there and were missed.
I actually had a really neat experence in getting ready. I had the thought that I needed to do something in my house because my Grandma Norma would notice. Then I remember that she wouldn't be there since she pasted away almost 18 months ago. The night before the blessing I had the most vivid dream, it actually took me awhile after waking up to realize it didn't actually happen. I dreamt that my and Parker arrived at church early for his blessing while Paul stayed home and finished getting everyone ready. When I walking into the chapel there was my Grandma sitting on the back row with a black and white pleated skirt and her layers of costume jewelry necklaces and her "bling" all over her fingers. I said to her that I didn't think that she was going to be there. She then said, "I wouldn't miss this!!!" Then I continued to have a wonderful conversation with my Grandma the details I can't remember but walked away with the feeling that she had never left and was still with us. SO I KNOW THAT SHE WAS THERE WITH US AND WOULDN'T MISS THAT IMPORTANT DAY!!!

How do you stop kids from growing up so fast?

I need to figure out a way to slow my children's growing up!!! This last few weeks it seems my kids have grown way too quickly. Kaden started soccer and is doing great and loving it. Especially that Daddy pays him a dollar for every goal. Needless to say we are going broke from this deal. Tanner decided that he wanted to go potty and wear underwear and has basically potty trained himself. Logan is now old enough for nursery. Parker is "talking" and smiling and interacting more and more each day. Kaden also started preschool which was probably harder for mom than for him. I am not ready for them to grow up but whether I am ready or not they are!!!

Five years

As our anniversary was approaching I kept thinking back to all that has happened in the last five years. We have had 4 boys, gotten 3 college degrees, bought 2 homes, had 4 different cars, I stopped working to stay home, Paul got a new job and has gotten several promotions. The last 5 years haven't gone as we had planned but there is no one else that I would want to share this crazy roller coaster ride with.
Paul is an amazing husband and father. I love that he looks forward to coming home and playing with his boys and wants to do everything he can with them. I love how hard Paul works and that he also wants me to be home with the kids and is willing to make the sacrifices that come with that. I love that he still wants to hold my hand and cuddle when we watch TV.
I hope that the next 5 years are just as great as the first. I LOVE YOU PAUL!!

What a busy two months!!!

Man it is amazing how two months have gone by and I have been way too busy to post anything.
May 10-23
Went to California to help my mom watch my two nephews while their parents went to Italy. Taking care of 5 boys under the age of five was quite an experience. The boys had a ton of fun and we did lots of fun things while Paul came for a few days. We went on a boat ride out on the ocean, went to the zoo, went to the children's museum, and we also spent an afternoon at the beach.
May 24-June 18
We got home and got straight to packing up the house and get ready to move. And of course everything could go as planned and 8 days before we were to close a problem came up with the appraisal on the house that we were buying and we were not sure that we were going to have a place to live. Luckily everything worked out and we even go the house a little bit cheaper than we had planned on which is always a plus.
June 18
We closed on the sale of our house and the purchase of our new house.
June 18-22
We moved out of our old house and then we were homeless for a few days. Thankfully we were able to crash at my parent's and leave all our belonging in the moving van over the weekend and go the keys to our new house Sunday night. So we rushed over to the house and cleaned carpets so that they would be dry and we could move in the next morning.
June 22-July 2
UNPACKING UNPACKING UNPACKING oh and I helped my mom throw a baby shower amongst the unpacking.
July 3
We went up to my parent's house and had a mini family reunion BBQ and then watched the fireworks. I love that my parent's live so close that we don't have to fight the crowds.
July 4-5
We went over to Paul's parents for a BBQ and then a home firework show which always is interesting to see what stupid things the guys are going to try this year. We got home from watching the fireworks and I decided to take a bath and just didn't feel very well. Then at three in the morning I decided that I was in labor and we called my mom and dad and they came down to stay with the other kids and Paul and I went to the hospital and at 7:08 that morning Parker was born.

Changes in our family!!

Well I think that we have finally sold our house, unless something goes wrong and the deal falls through again but we are hoping that that isn't the case. I spent a whole week looking at house I probably looked at 30 house and we found one that has almost everything that me and Paul wanted in a house and it isn't that far away from where we are now. Nope we are probably moving 2 or 3 miles away. We will be moving the weekend of June 20th so that will make it exciting by moving 3 weeks before my due date and since I typically go early I will have about 1-2 weeks to get the house put together as much as possible so we can bring baby home. Why do I do things that only cause me more stress. My poor boys are going to be hit with moving and a new baby all in one good thing they are young and are more resilient.

Logan is ONE!!!

Today is Logan's first birthday. I can't believe that he is one already. But in many ways he thinks he is older than that. He loves to follow his brother;s around and try to do everything that they do. He is talking more and more. He's favorite thing to say is play. He goes to the back door and points outside and says play play!!! If only the snow would go away so he could go and play.
Logan had the privilege of being born on his Great Grandma Norma's birthday and she was so thrilled that he was. I told her that she had everything and I could figure out what to give her for her birthday so I decided to have Logan for her present. Sadly a month later she passed away and we all miss her very much. But at her funeral I had tons of people come up and ask if Logan was the grandson that was born on her birthday and how she just talked and talked about him and how proud she was that she could share her birthday with him.

WHAT ELSE COULD GO WRONG!!

I guess that we got to greedy and happy about all the things that were happening in our lives that God decided to humble us a bit. It all started with a phone call from our agent that told us that the people that were going to buy our house could no longer buy it because he was laid off. THat then meant we had to call the people whose house we put an offer in on and tell them we couldn't buy it.
Then Tanner got sick with an ear infection that they can't get to go away and they just keep putting him on stronger and more expensive antibotics, then while taking care of him and trying to sell the house I get the stomach flu and get so dehydrated that I have to go get an IV and make sure everything is ok with the baby. Then Kaden and Logan get sick while I am still trying to recover. Then our car fails its safety inspection and we have to get a new windshield.
I do understand that things could be a whole lot worse and that we have a ton to be grateful for my husband has a job and my kids are relatively health and happy but it just amazing how everything is falling into place and going great and then bam the rug is pulled out from under you.

IT'S ANOTHER BOY!!!

Yep today I went in for my ultrasound and found out that I am having another boy. So I guess that I now need to come to grips with the idea that I will never have a little girl. So I guess Paul got his way and will have his own 4x400 meter relay team.

Busy few weeks

Well lets see I have got lots to blog about. First is that the kids were so excited that the weather was nice for a little while and there was no snow in the backyard that we went outside to play. It is not suppose to be like this the end of January and first part of February but I have enjoyed it.

Then for Tanner's birthday we took Kaden and Tanner to see Playhouse Disney live on stage. They loved it and got to see all their favorite characters (mickey, goofy, handy manny, tigger, and rocket from little einsteins) We had Paul's mom watch Logan and Paul and I took Kaden and Tanner. It was nice to get some more personal time with Tanner you see a whole different side when he gets a little more attention. He is a really funny goofy kid that makes me laugh.
Then I have been working on getting our house ready to put in the market and we have officially put our house up for sale. Hopefully it won't take too long to sell because selling a house is not fun. But we just feel that it is time to move and get a bigger house for our boys to have more room to play and be boys.

On Saturday was Tanner's 2nd birthday. We started the day with having to get the house ready for someone to come look at it. So we went up to Layton to get Krispy Kreme donuts for breakfast. Then we went to a friend's birthday party and they loved it the loved sliding down all the slides and bouncing on all the bounce houses. We left the party to go home and have the boys take nap but were once again kicked out of our house for someone to come look at it. So we let the boys sleep in the car and Paul and I just drove around and looked at house for sale none of which we can afford man some of them were huge!!! Then off to dinner at Buca Di Peppo. The food as pretty good but the best part of the night was when they sang to Tanner he just stood there and smiled and wasn't sure of what to do with all the attention on him. It was cute I will have to get picture of him from my dad. Then home for presents.

Pictures

Sorry about the sideways pictures I keep telling my computer to rotate them but they keep coming up wrong. Hopefully I can figure out the problem or maybe Paul can.

Kaden's birthday

I feel bad that Kaden has a birthday right after Christmas when we are all tired of parties and get togethers. But I always try to make a big deal about his birthday. So this year Paul stayed home from work and we kept busy. We started the day with Kaden picking what he wanted for breakfast and he request his usual from Paul and omelet with cheese and bacon. Then we got ready and went to lunch and McDonald's and got lunch and let the kids play in the play area. Then we took Kaden and Tanner ice skating, they didn't like it at first but when Paul and I were tired and ready to go they didn't want to. After that it was home for a nap while I got ready for Chuck E Cheese. We took Kaden to Chuck E Cheese and had my parents and Paul's parents come too. So we had pizza and played games and got a ton of tickets. It was chaos at Chuck E Cheese but the boys had fun. Kaden's favorite was his bumble transformer birthday cake. He was so exicited to have a transformer birthday cake.

Christmas

okay I know it is a little late to be posting on Christmas but I am just finally getting to it. This was the first Christmas morning that we spent at home. It was fun to just have my kids and all the attention on them Paul's parents and my parents came down to watch to. Kaden is starting to get the idea of Christmas and Santa coming and Tanner knows who Santa is but that is about it. So each year Christmas gets more and more fun at our house. The kids were spoiled and I even got surprised by a few things from Santa. Then off to visit Grandparents and cousins and all the jazz. We kept busy and by the end of the day we were ready for a good night sleep.
